History : Stygian was the sole product of an accidental litter between Soot and Lailah, two Reapers who had been romantically involved on and off for a few short moons before splitting off for good. During their time together, a litter had been produced, one which neither was aware of until the most obvious symptoms were upon the expectant mother. Rumours surfaced in the clab about who the father was; most were certain that it was Soot, given he and Lailah's relationship prior, but neither confirmed nor denied this. Their liaison had ended in flames and neither desired to be linked with one another again. Even if it meant that their offspring would grow up without a second parent.
After Stygian's birth, Lailah considered giving the dark-pelted kitten up to another pair who had longed for a life to raise for their own. She hadn't been prepared, nor did she want, to take the role of mother. But the single black kit was strong and healthy, and if he were to become successful in the clan, she wanted to be the one who had raised him. But caring for a kit was even harder than she had predicted, and the tempered she-cat had difficulties controlling her rage. One day, she snapped, swiping Stygian with a sheathed paw and belting out harsh words and even mentioning that she never even wanted to have him. It wasn't so much the physical aspect of this that hurt the kit the most, but the words which he was met with. He isolated himself from his mother, even after her multiple attempts at apologizing, allowing anger and hatred to brew in his soul, and eventually, taking a distorted view on the world.
During his warrior training, Stygian worked vigilantly to do his best. Others simply assumed he was an apprentice determined to become the greatest warrior of all, like many before him, but in reality, his actions were fueled by anger. Training was something of an escape for him. Though, taking one's anger out through battle practice and the like wasn't the most positive way to vent, but it was effective in Stygian's case. In time, he grew into a skilled and fierce cat, and a fine warrior.

Being selected to train under the wing of an Elite came as a surprise to the young cat, but he didn't dare pass up the chance. The training proved arduous as soon as it began, with constant directives and commands, and minimal rest until he mastered the techniques he would need in order to fulfill his future responsibilities. In time, Stygian fell in line with this, though, his actions were fueled more by anger and the desire to prevail than the general 'wanting to be the best he could be.' At least the vigorous training provided him some sort of escape, as well as with a means to suppress the anguish which he refused to admit to even himself he was feeling.
Over time, Stygian's prowess in the areas of which he had been educated in grew, and eventually, he became a skilled and valuable addition to the Elites.
